Midwest Adoption Center provides two different programs under contract to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. DCFS offers search service to adult adoptees who are trying to locate a birth relative and to adults who are trying to find a member of their family from whom they have been separated because of foster care or adoption through DCFS. The other program is the Confidential Intermediary Service of Illinois, a court ordered adoption search program.
Some searches are very difficult. If we are unable to find a current address for the person we are looking for, we may try to contact people who might be able to help us. We know that you are not the birth relative we are looking for but you may be able to help us. Perhaps you lived in the same area as the person we are looking for, went to the same school or may have had some other kind of connection with him or her.
