Midwest
Adoption Center [MAC] is an Illinois not-for-profit organization in existence
since October 1992. MAC’s goal was
then, and continues to be, to meet emerging and previously unmet needs of the
adoption community. Areas of focus
have included:
workshops and seminars for
professionals
as well as adoption triad members
therapy and consultations with
individuals and families in the adoption circle
design and delivery of the
Confidential Intermediary program throughout the state under contract with
IDCFS, including training and procedure manual
design and delivery of program to
provide information from closed IDCFS files
design and delivery of post-adoption
and guardianship search and reunion service for clients of IDCFS under contract
with the Department, including staff training and procedure manual
design and delivery of post-adoption
search and reunion service for Illinois private agencies
development of written protocol for
IDCFS regarding the provision of “non-identifying information” to adoptive parents at the time of
placement
MAC staff
bring a broad history of adoption related experience and are uniquely qualified
to assist Illinois professionals in continuing to deliver post-adoption
service. Since 1992, the Center
has designed complex search programs including in-depth training curriculum and
detailed service provision manuals for IDCFS as well as Illinois private
agencies.
